Police still seeking home invasion suspect

Winnipeg police are renewing their call to locate an organized crime target wanted in connection to a violent home invasion in Wolseley last summer.

Winnipeg police are renewing their call to locate an organized crime target wanted in connection to a violent home invasion last summer.

In a statement issued Thursday, police said Shane David Ferguson, 26, remains wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

Last Friday, RCMP in Swift Current, Sask. arrested Joel Gary Geddes, 26.

Geddes and Ferguson allegedly went to a home on Westminster Avenue inWinnipeg's Wolseley neighbourhood in June 2009 and beat up a 22-year-old man.

The victim suffered multiple injuries to his upper and lower body in the attack, investigators in the organized crime unit said.

Ferguson is described as being five feet eight inches tallwith a heavy build, brown hair and brown eyes.

Police said Ferguson is considered dangerous and not to be approached. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 204-986-6222 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).

Police said they believe a third person may also have been involved in the home invasion, but didnt comment further.
