Teen charged with 2nd-degree murder in relation to death of woman

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a homicide in southeastern Manitoba.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a homicide in southeastern Manitoba.

RCMP received a report of a 26-year-old woman who was being assaulted on Northshore Road in Sagkeeng First Nation,approximately 100 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg, around 12:20 a.m. on Monday.

Mounties found the woman on the side of the road, where she was pronounced dead, RCMP said in a news release on Wednesday.

An autopsy was scheduled forTuesday, RCMP said.

Police said they trackedthe suspect to a nearby residence.

RCMP major crimes services is continuing the investigation.
