Primates at the Assiniboine Park Zoo were on a bottled water diet during the two-day-long boil water-advisory.

The citywide boil water advisory has been lifted, and much like the rest of Winnipeggers, for two days primates at the citys Assiniboine Park Zoo were limited to drinking bottled or boiled water.

Chris Enright, head of veterinary services at the zoo, said staff members were giving primates basically the office cooler water from our office in order to just minimize any risk."

Zoo staff said because primates are soclosely related to humans, they too are susceptible to things like E. coli.
