Man ambushed, stabbed after arranging meet-up through online dating site

Police have arrested a second suspect one year after they say a man was lured to a location by someone he met through an online dating website and then ambushed, stabbed and robbed by three people.

Police say they have arrested a second suspect oneyear after a man was lured to a location by someone he met through an online dating website and thenambushed, stabbed and robbed by three people.

A 30-year-old man met a woman online and arranged to meet heron July 24, 2016, police said. The man arrived at an agreed-upon location, where he was mobbed by two males and one female, Winnipeg police said.

The man was stabbed in the lower body during the attack and then driven to the north Perimeter Highway in his vehicle before he was forced out and his car was driven into a ditch, police said. The assailants stole the man's personal belongings and tookmoney out of his bank account using his debit card.

Police say they have arrested a second suspect one year after a man was lured to a location by someone he met through an online dating website and then ambushed, stabbed and robbed by three people.

A then-17-year-old girl was arrested and charged with three counts of robbery, breaking and entering, assault with a weapon and kidnapping, among other offences.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday and charged with many of the same offences in connection with the case.

The investigation continues.

A similar case occured in April, when a man was lured to a location through an online dating site only to be stabbed and robbed in an attack that was live streamed on social media.
