Man, 22, charged with sexually assaulting 2 teen girls in Winnipeg

A 22-year-old Winnipeg man is charged with two separate incidents of sexually assaulting teenaged girls in the city, police say.

A 22-year-old Winnipeg man is charged with two separate incidents of sexually assaulting teenaged girls in the city, police say.

The man, posingas a 17-year-old,used social media tocommunicate with and lure the victims between March and April 2024, according to a news release from Winnipeg police.

He gained the trust of the girls, who are both in their early teens, and formed relationships that subsequently led to him sexually assaultingthem, police allege.

Investigators identified the man and arrested him on Tuesday.He is charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and luring.

The investigation is continuing but the man has beenreleased from custody on a court order prohibiting contact with anyone under the age of 18.
