Teen charged after boy hit when house was shot at in northern Manitoba: RCMP

Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with a shooting in northern Manitoba that left a 13-year-old boy with life-threatening injuries.

Manitoba RCMP have arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with a shooting that left a 13-year-old boy in Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation with life-threatening injuries.

Shots were fired before 2:25 a.m. Saturday at a home's exterior wall and living room, and bullets went into the 13-year-old's bedroom on the other side of the house, RCMP said in a news release.

There were five other people in the home, including three other youth, but no one else was hit, police said.

Police arrested the 15-year-old boy on Monday and have charged him with aggravated assault, reckless discharge of a firearm, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purposeand possessing a firearm without a licence.

The 15-year-old was remanded into custody.
