3 teens charged after boy, 16, shot at Winnipeg's Red River Ex

A 16-year-old boy was rushed to hospitalin critical condition after he was shot at one of Winnipeg's largest summer fairs.

A 16-year-old boy was rushed to hospitalin critical condition after he was shot at one of Winnipeg's largest summer fairs.

Three other teens aged 15 to 17have been charged.

Police were called to Red River Exhibition Park on the west edge of the city around7 p.m. Monday. They taped off a section of themidway, just outside one of the washrooms, a short distance from games and rides.

The teen was being tended to by in-house paramedics andwas then transported to hospital. He has since been upgraded to stable condition, police said Tuesday.

Two 17-year-old boys and a 15-year-old girlare charged in connection with the incident.

They were located in ataxi cab in the Shaughnessy Heights area, nearTyndall Avenue and Burrows Avenue, just before 7:30 p.m. Aloaded handgun was recovered with them, police said.

The shooting occurred after an altercation, according to police.

One 17-year-old is charged with aggravated assault, numerousfirearms offences and four charges related to failing to comply with a prior sentence and court conditions.

The other17-year-old is charged with aggravated assault, while the 15-year-old girl is charged with aggravated assault and multiple weapons-related offences.
