Argument sparks gunfire in Brandon apartment

Brandon police have taken a woman into custody after a fight involving a gun in a Brandon apartment.

Brandon police have taken a woman into custody after a gun was fired during a fight in an apartment.

Officers were called to the apartment on 18th Street about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday after someone reported hearing a gunshot, police said.

A man and woman had gone to the apartment and got into an argument with the tenant, police said. The man pulled out the gun and fired it, police said.

The tenant, who suffered a minor head injury in the confrontation,managed to force the man and woman out of his apartment. The suspects ran away.

The woman was located nearby and taken into custody, police said. They are still looking for the man.
