Mushers found after going missing in Manitoba blizzard

Three mushers who went missing in stormy weather on their way to a sled dog race in northern Manitoba have been found.

Three mushers who went missing in stormy weather on their way to a sled dog race in northern Manitoba have been found.

"RCMP just called me. They found Ryley and the two other mushers andare transporting them slowly to Leaf Rapids," a family member told CBC News in a message on Thursday.

"Hoping to get moreinformation on their condition and hopefully hear from him."

Ryley Froelich, 14,left Thompson with two adult mushersand roughly 30 dogs on Monday evening, before the blizzard hit. They were in a truck heading to adog sled race in Brochet, about 330 kilometres away.

Blizzard conditions arrived in Thompson overnight into Tuesday, bringing whiteout conditions. By the time it moved out late Wednesday, it had dropped 50 centimetres of snow, Environment Canada said.

There is no further information at this point about when and where Froelich and the man and woman were found.
