2 men stabbed 1 block apart on Winnipeg's Magnus Avenue

Two attackers stabbed a man on Magnus Avenue early Thursday, then turned the knife on another who witnessed it, Winnipeg police say.

Two attackersstabbed aman on MagnusAvenue early Thursday, thenturned the knife onanotherwho witnessed it, Winnipeg police say.

Police said a 34-year-old man was stabbed in the 500 block of Magnus just before 3:55 a.m. The victimmanaged to walk a short distance up the street before collapsing. He was rushedto hospital in critical condition.

As officerswere assisting him, policewere also called to a scene about a block away,where they encountered a 32-year-old man who was also stabbed.

Police say theydiscovered the second manhadseen the earlier attack and was accosted by the suspects.

The second victimwas sent to hospital in unstable condition.

Police spokeswoman Patrol Sgt. AndreeHuberdeausaid two suspects are incustody in connection with bothstabbings. Police did not identify them.

Thevictims did not know each other,Huberdeausaid.
