Boy, 15, charged after 2 people stabbed in separate attacks, Winnipeg police say

A 15-year-old boy is charged after two people were stabbed within minutes of each other on Friday morning, Winnipeg police say.

A 15-year-old boy is charged after two people were stabbed within minutes of each other on Friday morning, Winnipeg police say.

A 50-year-old man was walking on King Street, between Flora and Sutherland avenues, around 10:15 a.m. Friday when someone stabbed him in the upper body without provocation, then took off, Winnipeg police said in a news release Tuesday.

About five minutes later, a 27-year-old woman was walking in the back lane of Main Street, between Jarvis and Higgins avenues, when someonestabbed her repeatedly in the upper and lower body before fleeing, police said.

The woman was taken to hospital in unstable condition, but was later upgraded to stable.

The man who was stabbed was taken to hospital in stable condition.

The Winnipeg policecanine unit led officers to Lusted Avenue, near Norquay School, where a 15-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the stabbings.

The teen did not know the man or the woman he's accused of stabbing, police said.

He has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon.
