Stony Mountain inmate dies, prison put on lockdown

An inmate at Stony Mountain Institution is deadand the prison wasputon lockdown on Monday night, a spokesperson with theUnion of Canadian Correctional Officers (UCCO) says.

The inmate was found deadon Monday night at about 7 p.m. at Manitoba's federalmedium-security facility,James Bloomfield, the president of the UCCO's prairie region, told CBC News.The prison was put onlockdownfollowing the death.

RCMPand the Critical Incident Stress Management team werecalledto what Bloomfield referred to as "adifficult scene."
