Slain Winnipeg woman's family seeks answers

The family of Carolyn Marie Sinclair, a Winnipeg woman whose body was found near a dumpster over the weekend, is determined to find out who killed her.

Police foundthe 25-year-old woman's body on Saturday near a dumpster behind an apartment complex in the 700 block of Notre Dame Avenue, between Toronto and Victor streets.

"She was very outgoing, she was a very lovable person," her sister, Amanda Sinclair, told CBC News on Monday.

"She had a good personality where, you know, she stuck on you."

Sinclair's family is holding a vigil Tuesday at 5 p.m. CT in the area where the body was found.

Missing since December

Carolyn Sinclair was last heard from on Dec. 13, when she told her family she would be home for Christmas.

Family members searched around the city for herand pasted missing person posters around the city'sWest End an area Sinclair was known to frequent.

In December,Sinclair's family told CBC News she was five months pregnant. They were concerned shewas not getting the prenatal care she needed.

Sinclair was battling a drug addiction and workedthe sex trade to support her habit, according to police and family members.

Amanda Sinclair said she will go to the very streets where her sister worked, talk to sex-trade workers, and put up posters in the hopes someone will come forward.

"Somebody's out there who's got to know," Sinclair said. "Even if it's just that one person, eventually that person will break down."

'Have no heart'

Investigators aren't sure how long the remains had been at that location, but police say they believe the body may have been there for a lengthy period of time.

Amanda Sinclair said the family is shocked with how Carolyn was found.

"I can't picture anybody that could have done something so gruesometo have no heart like that, just to leave somebody there?" she said.

The cause of death is notbeing released at this time.

Amanda Sinclair said she will release two balloons at Tuesday's vigil: one for Carolyn, and one for her sister's unborn child.
