Most of Manitoba's worst roads are in Winnipeg

CAA Manitoba has released its list of the province's 10 worst roads, seven of which run through the capital city.

St. James Street in Winnipeg tops CAA's top 10 list, which is based on more than 3,400 votes that Manitobans cast in a four-weekonline voting campaignearlier this year.

CAA launched the campaign to raise awareness of the terrible condition of some roads in Manitoba. It released its official results on Friday.

St. James Street, which runs between Portage and Notre Dame avenues, garnered a total of 459 votes, according to official results released Friday.

In second place is Highway 21, which runs through the southwestern part of the province, receiving 184 votes from unimpressed motorists.

Marion Street in Winnipeg's St. Boniface area came in third place, with 142 votes cast, followed by Highway 10the road to Riding Mountain National Parkwith 123 votes.

Molson Street in the city's East Kildonan neighbourhood rounded out CAA's top five.

The rest of CAA's list of 10 worst roads consists of the Trans-Canada Highway and four more Winnipeg streets:

• Route 90
• McGillvary Boulevard
• Loudoun Road
• Empress Street

CAA officials say are presenting government with their final report, which includes the full list of roads.
