Teghan's top 5 things to do in Winnipeg this weekend (Oct. 28-30)

It's going to be a super busy weekend, and there was a ton of stuff I didn't have room for in the column this week.

If you're not into anything on the list this week, here are a few more options: Taste Winnipeg is on (a little pricey but well worth it), Pity Party is at the Handsome Daughter on Saturday and the Garrick is showing the Rocky Horror Picture Show, if you can score tickets.

My top pick for kids is definitely the Art City party, and my top pick for adults, probably Richard Inman's show with William Prince at the Bandwidth Theatre.

WHAT: KIDS Art City Eaten Alive party

When: Friday, Oct. 28, 5-7:30 p.m.

Where: Broadway Neighbourhood Centre at 185 Young St.

Cost: FREE

If you do one indoor Halloween thing with your kids this year, this should be it.

Art City is hosting its annual Halloween party at the Broadway Neighbourhood Centre Friday night.

Everyone is welcome to come for free and check out the haunted house the kids have been working on all month.

This year's theme is Eaten Alive, and it's apparently"a hairy voyage through the anatomy of a monster."

The kids have been working all month with Ming Hon, a dancer and performance artist, so it should be pretty adorable.

WHAT: SHOP Crafted at the WAG

When: Friday and Saturday

Where: The Winnipeg Art Gallery at 300 Memorial Blvd.

Cost: $5

The Winnipeg Art Gallery is hosting a craft sale this weekend, with work from 50 local artists.

You can buy stuff, do workshops and browse the galleries for the $5 admission fee.

This is a big fundraiser for the WAG every yearand a good way to get a quantum leap on Christmas shopping.

Basically, all you need to know is this isn't your mom's or dad's craft sale. A lot of young artists are taking part, and it'll be a good show.

Plus, $5 is cheap to go see the WAG's galleries, so even if you don't like the crafts, it'll still be worth the trip.

Also, kids are free and welcome to go, but as a former child, I can say that craft shows are not fun for kids.

WHAT: BALLET RWBperforms Dracula

When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Where: Centennial Concert Hall at 555 Main St.

Cost: $29 to $115

The Royal Winnipeg Ballet is opening its season with Dracula and there areshows all weekend long.

The costumes look amazing and apparently there will be gargoyles and flying bats. Plus, Mahler!

If you're thinking the ballet is stuffy and maybe not for you, they're inviting people to come to shows in costumes and enter a draw to win a walk-on role in the Nutcracker.

That means you can go to the ballet as aNinjaTurtle or aGhostbuster; they don't care.

Tickets start at $29, and that's not a student rate, so go check this out before it's over!

WHAT: NERD STUFF Central Canada Comic Con

When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Where: Convention centre at 375 York Ave.

Cost: $16.50 to $20.50 for a day pass

The Central Canada Comic Con is back this weekend and apparently William Shatner is going to be there.

There will also be all the usual stuff:booths and costumes, a treasure hunt (and a Pokemon Go thing?) and gaming.

There are also a few after parties planned, one of which is a nerdy shirt party at the Alt Hotel Friday night for $10.

WHAT: MUSIC RichardInmanand William Prince

When:Sunday, Oct. 30,6 p.m.

Where:BandwithTheatre at 585ElliceAve.

Cost: $10

If you missed RichardInman'sshow at Fools and Horses earlier this year, you can make up for it Sunday night.

Inman'slong-awaited new album is out this Sunday, and there's an album release party at theBandwithTheatre to celebrate.

He's releasing 10 new country/folk tracks that he recorded with Scott Nolan and Jamie Sitar.

Another one of my local favourites, William Prince,is opening forInman.

The pair together will make for a really incredible show.

This one is an earlier show, so you can check it out and be in bed for work at a good time.
