Man charged with impaired driving after woman, 82, dies in rural Manitoba crash

A woman is dead and two other people she was travelling with were injured in a crash involving an impaired driver southwest of Teulon, Man.

A 29-year-old man faces impaired driving charges after a crashsouthwest of Teulon, Man., that left one woman dead and two other people injured.

Officers were called to a two-vehicle collision around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday in the rural municipality of Rockwood, according to a release from Stonewall RCMP on Monday.

Mounties said a pickup truck travelling south on Road 3 East collided with an SUV travelling east on Highway 415. RCMP say the truck drove into the crossing "when it was unsafe to do so."

An 82-year-old passenger in the SUV was killed. Two men the 55-year-old driver and a 91-year-old passenger were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. All three were from Teulon.

Two menin the pickup truck, both from Stonewall, were not physically hurt.

The 29-year-old driver was arrested and charged with two impaired driving offences.

RCMP continue to investigate the crash.
