Thunderstorm warnings lifted in Manitoba

Warnings about potentially stormy weather werein effect forparts of Manitoba on Tuesday but all alerts were lifted as of Wednesday.

Warnings about potentially stormy weather werein effect forparts of Manitoba on Tuesday but all alerts were lifted as of Wednesday.

TheInterlake region andareas in the eastern and southwestern parts of the province were under warnings and watches Tuesday evening.

Environment Canada saidmeteorologists were keeping an eye on a line of severe thunderstorms capable of creating heavy rains, strong winds and hail the size of nickels to ping pong balls.

Upwards of about a dozen areas across the province were under a severe thunderstorm warning, but the warnings ended after midnight.

Several other areas were included in a severe thunderstorm watch issued by Environment Canada through the evening, including Manitoba's southwestern corner,areas between Dauphin Lake and Lake Manitoba, and much of the Interlake region. Those alerts also ended overnight.
