Environment Canada confirmed a tornado ripped through a Manitoba First Nation Thursday night.

Environment Canada confirmed it was a Tornado that ripped through a Manitoba First Nation Thursday night, ruining five homes and sending one couple to hospital.

The tornado left a path of devastation.

The winds lifted Norma Hotains home off its foundation while she and her boyfriend were inside at the time.

"I felt like I was flying but I couldnt breathe, I couldnt see anything, just everything was white," the 53-two-year old said. "The wind threw me across the hall."

Hotain was left with an injured hip but she also lost everythingmany of her possessions among the debris that lines the road.

The objects she misses most are pictures of her parents.

Environment Canadas storm survey team said it was likely an EFO OR EF1 tornadomeaning 130 kilometres winds per hourthat caused the damage.

Five homes at Sioux Valley First Nation were badly damaged.

"It was a wall of clouds from here to there, just like marshmallows coming down," said Elisha Taylor, one of those forced to flee.
