Thunderstorm warnings lifted for southwestern Manitoba

Severe thunderstorm warnings have ended for areas in southwestern Manitoba, includingthe city of Brandon, that were under warnings and watches for much of Monday night.

Severe thunderstorm warnings have ended for areas in southwestern Manitoba, includingthe city of Brandon, that were under warnings and watches for much of Monday night.

Environment Canada had issued thunderstorm and tornado warnings for parts of the Westman region, as well as in pocketsofsouth-central Manitoba, from around 6:30 p.m. until shortly before 10:30 p.m. CT.

A severe thunderstorm watch was also in effect for much of the evening in Brandon, Dauphin and much of the Westman region, as well as much of the Red River Valley west of Winnipeg. The watches were lifted at 10 p.m.

Earlier, tornado warnings had been issued around 6:30 p.m.for the RuralMunicipality ofRosedale, including the communities ofEden and Kelwood, and theMunicipality of Glenella-Lansdowne, which includes the communities of Arden and Tenby,but those warnings were later lifted.

Tornado warnings were issuedfor the Rural Municipalities of Yellowhead and Oakview at7:15 p.m. and 7:31 p.m. CT, respectively. They were liftedat 7:46 p.m.
