Winnipeg apartment fire causes $500,000 damage

Investigators are still trying to find out what caused a big fire in a Winnipeg apartment block on Wednesday.

Investigators are still trying to find out what caused a bigfire in a Winnipeg apartment block on Wednesday.

The fire started in an upper level suite and spread to the attic and roof of the building on southOsborne Street at Morley Avenue.

No one was hurtbut three cats died in the blaze, which caused anestimated $500,000 in damage.

Residents have not yet been allowed to return.

This isn't the first time that block has been in the news.

In 2006 there was a fire in the basement, and in 2011 a man was found beaten to death in one of the suites.
