A Winnipeg band that has soared in popularity in recent years has been robbed of its instruments and gear on tour again.

In a post on Royal Canoe's Facebookpage, the band said its trailer was stolen north of Montreal in Laval, Que., early Monday morning.

Laval police confirmed the trailer was stolen between midnight and 6 a.m. ET from aSheraton Hotelparking lot. The gear is valued at $82,000, police said, adding investigators weren't able to find anysurveillance footage from the area as of Monday morning.

The neighbourhood where the theft occurred is considered a "preferred" area of robbers, as it offers easy access to the highway for speedy getaways, police said.

It's the second time the band has been robbed of gear in the past three years.

In the fall of 2013, passports and personal belongings were stolen from the band's van overnight on tour in Chicago, although their instruments were safe and sound.

The band posted later in the day Monday thanking fans for an outpouring of support online.
