The camp wasset up across from the legislative building in Winnipeg on Aug. 21 fivedays afterthe discovery of Tina Fontaine's body in the Red River sparked renewed calls for an inquiry.

People at the Memorial Park camp had sought an inquiry into murdered and missing women. While that has not happened, they are happy that various levels of government are paying more attention to the issue. (Jillian Taylor/CBC)
Fontaine, 15, was killed after running away from her foster home weeks earlier.

Camp organizers told CBC News on Friday theybelieve that the camp has run its course, especially sincethe federal government announced it would participate in a roundtable on the issue if invited.

Organizers called that only a partial victorybecause they had been calling for a national inquiry.

However, they feel like they've been listened to, acknowledged by the premiers across Canada and now the federal government.

The camp will come down on Saturday between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., and will include a feastto thank the community.
