Winnipeg Jets pose with pets for fundraising calendar

At some Jets games in November, fans will be able to bring home special memorabilia that was created by the team members' wives and girlfriends.

It's a calendar that features the players posing with animals from Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter, and the charity is expecting it to be the cat's meow it is anticipated that it will bring in $20,000 for the shelter.

Starting on Nov. 12, it will be sold at Jets gear locations and the women behind the project will be at Jets home games on Nov. 18, 21 and 23 selling them in the MTS Centre concourses.

The Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter is Manitoba's first registered charity no-kill animal shelter.
