Winnipeg Muslims rally in support of Canada's soldiers

People in Winnipeg's Muslim community held a rally at the Manitoba Legislative Building to protest against violence against Canadian soldiers.

People in Winnipeg's Muslim community held a rally at theLegislative Building to protest against violence against Canadian soldiers.

Supporters at the solidarity rally saidthey stand shoulder to shoulder with fellow Canadians and unequivocally condemn radicalization and all acts of terror.

The rally comes on the heels of two recent attacks on members of Canada's military, one inSaint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que., which left Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent dead.Days later,reservist NathanCirillowas shot deadon Parliament Hill.

Similar demonstrations have been held across Canada recently, including an anti-terror rally in Calgary Saturday ahead of Ashura, a Muslim holy day.

Demonstrators saidacts of terror have no basis in any religion, including Islam.They said they want to pay tribute to those who dedicate themselves to protecting Canada.
