Winnipeg police charge 2nd person with 1st-degree murder of man found dead outside church

Winnipeg police have charged a second person with first-degree murder after a 20-year-old man was found dead outside a church in the North End late last year.

Winnipeg police have charged a second person with first-degree murder after a 20-year-old man was found dead outside a church in the North End late last year.

Police arrested Victoria Andrews, 26, at the Headingley Women's Correctional Centre on Tuesday, where she was being held for an unrelated matter. Sheremains in custody, police said in a news release on Wednesday.

Police officersfound the body of a man identified as Brooklyn Elijah Hiebertafter they were called to Flora Avenue, between Robinson and King streets, on Dec. 30 at 3 p.m.

Hiebert was fatally assaulted by another man nearby on Selkirk Avenue and then his body was moved andabandoned outside the church, police previously said.

In July, police arrested and charged Christopher Wattman, 36, with first-degree murder. He's remained in custody since, police said.
