Winnipeg police HQ cost audit gets green light

An audit into cost overruns at the new Winnipeg police headquarters will go ahead.

City council approved the plan at a meeting on Wednesday, rubber stamping a decision everyone expected.

The city's executive policy committee last week approved spending about $500,000 to hire an external auditor.

The audit is expected to be completed by June.
