Thursday evening, the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba issued a news release thanking Winnipeg Police for a speedy response.

"The safety and security of our community is paramount," the release states."We are pleased that our emergency procedures were effective."

The threat prompted Premier Brian Pallister to write a pair of tweets thanking police and saying Manitoba will stand against intolerance.

The campus has since been reopened and has resumed normal operations.

On Tuesday, the centre released a letter advising patrons it had not been impacted by a number of threats made to Jewish community centres in the U.S. and Canada.

"While the threats being received may be unsettling, we are using this as an opportunity to ensure our procedures reflect best practices and staff are well-prepared," the letter stated.
