A candidate who ran for council in Winnipeg's recent municipal election isn't the only high profile person accused after co-ordinated drug raids in Manitoba and three other provinces earlier this week.

Police converged on Ray Ulasy's home in TransconaWednesday morning. His neighbours were stunned, not only
because the 50-year-old man had just run for city council, but because he's been a prominent member of Transcona for the past 25 years and has been at the helm of a number of several successful businesses.

Colomy, 40, is a former bouncer at Bar Italia on Corydon Avenue in Winnipeg. (Facebook)
The father of threeis now charged with twocounts of trafficking firearms.

A teacher's assistant and a prominent Winnipeg property developer are also among the suspects.

Darren Raymond Colomy, 40, a former bouncer at Bar Italia on Corydon Avenue, works full time as a teacher's assistant at Acadia Junior High in the Pembina Trails School Division.

Pembina Trails School Division officials said as soon as they learned of the charges against Colomy, a teacher's assistant at Acadia Junior High in Winnipeg, he was suspended. They said there's no indication any illegal activity was taking place at the school. (CBC)
He has been charged with trafficking steroids in the drug raids.

Officials with the school division said when they learned that, they immediately suspended him.

A spokesperson also tells CBC there's no indication there was any illegal activity at the school.

Kara Lynn Peralta, 22, and her common-law husband Reighner Delacruz are also among the suspects.

In October 2017 Jared Devloo was convicted of conspiracy to traffic cocaine and of being a member of a conspiracy to traffic cocaine at a wholesale level. (Jerway Holdings Ltd.)
Sources tell CBC Peralta occasionally tags along on Delacruz's drug deals.

Both are unemployed and face a number of cocaine and meth trafficking charges.

But sources tell CBC Jared Devloo is the biggest fish police in Manitoba have caught in their net in the past five years.

Jared Devloo, owner of Jerway Holdings Ltd., is a property development company that's built a number of homes in Winnipeg, Including this condominium complex in St Norbert. Devloo is facing drug trafficking charges. (CBC)
Devloo owns Jerway Holdings Ltd, a property development company that's built a number of homes across the city, including a 30-unit condo in St. Norbert.

Devloo was one of the pallbearers for Frank or Franco Nucci, a high-level cocaine dealer with ties to organized crime who was shot to death in Montreal in 2005.

Sources tell CBC Devloo, too, is a high-level cocaine supplier.

They also allege that Devloo and three other suspects caught in the raids this week sell more cocaine and meth in a week than the entire Manitoba Chapter of the Hells Angels can sell in a month combined.

They each now face a number of charges, including drug trafficking.
