Winnipegger accidentally hands out wedding ring with candy on Halloween

Lorne Wolfe believes he accidentally dropped his wedding ring in a trick-or-treater's bag of candy Saturday night.

An Island Lakes couple is desperately seeking a wedding band thatthey believe slipped off into a bag of Halloween candy on Saturday night.

Lorne Wolfe realized the ring went missing sometime between7 and 7:30 p.m. He recently lost weight and he thought his ring was tooloose,but he didn't take it off, he said.

"I should have taken it off;I didn't.I always postpone things," he said.

He and his wife, Barb Wolfe, havematching two-tonedgoldwedding bands. They've worn them since they got married in1984.

"I feel really bad because he feels so bad," said Barb Wolfe. "We've worn them for 31 years and all of a sudden it's gone."

The couple hopesomeone will come forward with the missing ring. Only about 40 children visited the home on Peres Oblats Drive for Halloween, said Barb.

"I'm pretty optimistic," she said."We've got our fingers crossed."
