Amber Alert cancelled after 5-year-old Quebec boy found safe in Ontario

Police say the boy wasfound in the York Region in southern Ontario after being takenfrom the municipality of Brossardon Montreal's South Shore Monday night.

Quebec provincial police have ended an Amber Alert that was issued Tuesday morning as afive-year-old boy who was reported missinghas beenfound safe.

Police say the boy wasfound in the York Region in southern Ontario after being takenfrom the municipality of Brossardon Montreal's South Shore Monday night.

The alert was issued just before 4 a.m. ET on Tuesday, expanding to Ontario a few hours later.

The Sret du Qubechad said its main suspect was a65-year-old womanwho is known to the family.
