AMT train crashes into parked Montreal police cruiser
No one was injured, service cancelled on 31 train toward Vaudreuil Wednesday night
Investigators with Canadian Pacific are looking into a collision that happened late Wednesday involving an AMT commuter train and a Montrealpolice cruiser.
Police saythey responded to a call in Lachineataround 9 p.m. abouta woman walking along the tracks near Highway 20 and Norman Street.
While the officers drove around to conduct asearchfor the woman, the police cruiser got stuck on the train tracks.
"The vehicle could not get out of that position. Following that, there was a train with some passengers that was heading west and struck the police car," said Montreal police spokesmanJean-Pierre Brabant.
The collision happened on theVaudreuil-Hudson AMT trainline.
No one was injured.
At around 10:40 p.m., the AMT sent out a tweet stating thatservice on the 31 train, toward Vaudreuil, was cancelled.
