Cars torched in front of Saint-Laurent home for the second time, police say

For the second time in two years, vehicles have been torched in front of a home in Montreal's Saint-Laurent borough.

Similar incident occurred in February 2018 at the same address

For the second time in two years, vehicles have been torched in front of a home in Montreal's Saint-Laurent borough.

Two vehicles went up in flames on early Tuesday morning.Firefighters were able to quickly put the fires out, but they were heavily damaged.

Montreal police say they appear to have been deliberately set, and surveillance cameras captured images of two people leaving the scene at around 1:40 a.m.

Const. Jean-Pierre Brabantsaid nobody was injured in the incident, but a home near the burning cars was damaged.Arson investigators will be on the scene Tuesday.

On Feb.22, 2018, two other vehicles parked in front of the same residence were set on fire under similar circumstances and at almost the same hour as Tuesday's incident.

At thattime, the owner of the residence, a Montreal businessman who works in real estate, had told investigators that hehadno known enemies and he did notunderstand why he was being targeted.

He will be met again by the investigators today, police say.

Not far from Alexis-Nihon Park, Stewart Squareis about 450 metres in length andlargely made up of single-family homes.
