Beaubien Metro station leaking only months after $4M reno

In recent days, water has been dripping from the walls of the station onto the platform and escalators in the station.

New ventilation shaft, new stairs, repairs to floors and walls made last summer

Only months after undergoing major renovations, Beaubien Metro is leaking.

In recent days, water has been dripping from the walls of the station onto the platform and escalators.

STM spokespersonAmlieRgis saidfirefighters will spraya special colouring agent this morning to try to locate the source of the leak.

Rgis said the leak had stopped by Friday afternoon.

The station was closed last summer fora $4.3-million facelift, including anew ventilation shaft, newstairs, new lightingandrepairs tothe floors and walls on the train platforms.

The station was re-opened in September while renovations continued.

Opened in 1966, the STM saysBeaubien Metro station sees 3.6 million passengers a year.
