Boil-water advisory lifted for St-Michel, St-Leonard

The boil water advisory has been lifted for St-Michel and St-Leonard after Friday's water main break.

A boil water advisory in St-Michel and St-Leonard has been lifted after yesterday's water main break.

The corner of Pie-IX Boulevard and Villeray Street will remain closed all weekend as crews repair a 48-inch water main that ruptured on Friday. (CBC)

Close to800 homes and businesses in the St-Michel neighbourhood were left in the dark and hundreds of homes were evacuated yesterday,after a48-inch pipe ruptured early in the morning.

Running water and power has since been restored.

Commuters and pedestriansare still being urged to avoid the corner of Pie-IX Boulevard and Villeray Street.

Crews are working to repair the water main, leaving the intersection completely closed until Monday.
