Bonaventure Expressway reopened after damaged structure removed

The Bonaventure Expressway heading into downtown is open to traffic again after a damaged signage panel was removed.

The Bonaventure Expressway heading into downtown is open to traffic again after a damaged signagepanelwas removed.

The federal bridge corporation, which oversees the highway,had closed the highway for about 30 minutes beginning at 10 a.m.

Earlier this morning, around 7:45 a.m., atruck hit an overheadroad sign, prompting the bridge corporation to send a crew tosecure it during morning rush hour.

The highway was initiallycompletely closed for a time as the structure was inspected earlier in the morning, snarling morning traffic, then two of three lanes were reopened.
