Bloc Qubcois apologizes for using Pennsylvania farm in agriculture ad

The Bloc Qubcois has apologized after mistakenly using an image of a Pennsylvania farm for a social media campaign meant to show its commitment to defending the province's agriculture interests.

The original image chosen for the social media campaign showed a farm in Pennsylvania.

The Bloc Qubcoishas apologized after mistakenly using an image of a Pennsylvaniafarmin a social media post meant to show its commitment to defending the province's agriculture interests.

The ad features an agricultural landscape and the slogan, "Nousbataillonsferme pour les agriculteurs," a play on words meant to demonstrate the sovereigntistparty will fight for the interests ofQuebec farmers.

But areverse image search in theTinEyesearch engineshows that the photo, used about 100 times since 2008, was taken inPennsylvania.

The partyapologizedfor the error Monday on its Facebook page and posted a new ad featuring a Quebec farm.

"Our apologies, the previous image was of a farm in Pennsylvania!" the message said.

"Here's one fromSaint-Jean-de-l'le-d'Orlans! It's good to see that so many of you follow us on social media!"

The Bloc Qubcois changed the image to a farm in the province later in the day.
