Canadiens backup goalie Mike Condon claimed by Pittsburgh Penguins

Montreal Canadiens backup goaltender Mike Condon will head to Pittsburgh after being picked up by the Penguins on Tuesday.

After a season replacing injured Price, Condon was put on waivers Monday

The rookie goalie, who struggled to fill the spot of injured netminder Carey Price during the 2015-16 season, was placed on waivers Monday.

While thePenguins already have an excellent duo in Marc-Andre Fleury and Matt Murray, they find themselves short-handed going forward.

Murraybroke his hand at the World Cup and could miss several weeks of activities.

In his first NHL season, Condonpulled off a21-25-6 record over 55 games, including 51starts.
