CBC Quebec broadcasts from Val-d'Or

CBC Quebec was in Val-d'Or Friday to explore how the community is responding to changes and challenges, especially concerning its significant First Nations population.

CBC Quebec was in Val-d'OrFriday.The community is an economic, educational and cultural hub in the northwest. CBC is exploring how it is responding to changes and challenges, especially concerning its significant First Nations population.

Quebec AM beganthe day at 6 a.m. ET with Susan Campbell hosting a special live broadcast from the Native Friendship Centre in the Salle Polson. The room is named after artist Frank Polson, an Anishnabe member of the Long Point First Nation in Winneway.

From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. ET,Breakaway host Rachelle Solomon continued our special programming.In thefirst part of the program, listenersheard about different educationand community projects. Thefocus then shiftedto celebrating sports, culture and youth in northwestern Quebec.
