Christian Paradis not running in 2015 federal elections
Quebec Conservative MP says he is making the decision for 'personal' reasons
Christian Paradishas announced he will not run in the 2015 federal elections.
TheMganticL'rable MP has more recently held the position ofMinister of International Development and Minister for la Francophoniein Stephen Harper's cabinet.
The 41-year-old fromThetford Mines,Que. said the decision not to run again was a personal choice made with his family.
"We have come to the conclusion that after almost a decade of my being on the public stage, it's time for me to pass on the torch and move on serenely to write a new chapter in our lives," said thestatement on hiswebsite.
Paradis said he would continue to serve hisconstituents until the end of his mandate.
Federal elections are scheduled for October 19.
