Clown costumes banned at Shawinigan high school

A high school in Shawiniganis telling students to leave their clown costumes behind this Halloween.

A complaint was brought to the Sret du Qubecafter one group of students dressed up as clownsto play a trick on some of their peers.

The perpetrators of the prank were made to apologize as a result.

This comes after a rash of "creepy clown sightings" acrossNorth America, from Nova Scotia to Texas, some of which have turned violent.

The school's administration says thisis a preventive measure, to keep similar incidents from happening again this Halloween.

This isn't the only school that hasbannedclown costumes outright. Similar measures have been added in schools across the country.
