Quebec Premier Franois Legault has ruled out the possibility of lifting red-zone restrictions early, with two weeks remaining in the second 28-day partial lockdown.
Legault said Tuesday the spread of the virus is particularly concerning in certainregions:Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, Lanaudire, Mauricie-Centre-du-Qubec and the Gaspsie.
The Eastern Townships, meanwhile, is set to enter the red zone on Thursday, joining much of the province in being subjected to heightened restrictions.

What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
- Fever.
- New or worsening cough.
- Difficulty breathing.
- Sudden loss of smell without a stuffy nose.
- Gastrointestinal issues (such as nausea, diarrhea).

Quebec government reminders for preventing the spread of COVID-19:
- Wash your hands frequently.
- Avoid touching your face.
- Wear a mask or face coveringwhen physical distancing is not possible. Wearing a mask is mandatory in enclosed public spaces across the province.
- Stay at least two metres away from other people as much as possible.
- Self-isolate for 14 days after returning from a stay outside the country.
