Man, woman dead in Eastern Townships following apparent murder-suicide: Quebec police

Quebec provincial police saythe deaths of a man in his 60s and a woman in her 50swho were foundin a homein the Eastern Townships Friday eveningappear to be a a case of a murder-suicide.

Police with the Sret du Qubec (SQ) responded to a 911 call about a person in distress at a home in Dunham atabout 5:15 p.m. Friday.

When police arrived at the home on Lasnier Street, they found the man and the woman seriously injured.The pair were confirmed dead at the scene.

The victims are 59-year-oldPatrizia Rao and 62-year-old Frdric-Lynn Blairfrom Dunham.

On Saturday, SQ spokesperson Stphane Tremblay said investigators would belooking at all possible scenarios, including a murder.

The SQ issued a newsrelease Saturday evening, saying the investigation has led them to believe the deaths were a case of a murder followed by a suicide.

"An autopsy will be carried out on the bodies of the two victims in order to officially rule on the causes and circumstances of the deaths," the release reads.
