Giuseppe De Vito, Montreal mobster, died of cyanide poisoning

A Quebec coroner's report reveals that well-known Montreal Mafia member Giuseppe De Vito died from cyanide poisoning in July.

A Quebec coroner's report reveals that well-known Montreal Mafia member Giuseppe De Vito died from cyanide poisoning in July.

DeVitowas found unconscious in his cellatthefederal prison inDonnaconain July.

The 46-year-old, who wasassociated with theRizzuto clan, was arrested in 2010, and convicted of conspiracy to import drugs andgangsterism.

According to the coroner's report, testsfound toxic-levels of cyanide in De Vito's blood and stomach.

DeVito was also the husband of AdeleSorella, who is in prison forkilling their two daughterswhile he was on the run.

On June 24, she was convicted offirst-degree murder in the March 2009 deaths of the children.
