Jean-Franois Lise will run for PQ leader

Jean-Franois Lise will publicly announce on Mondayhis decision to enter the leadership race forthe Parti Qubecois. Thiswill make him the third official candidate along withVronique Hivon andAlexandre Cloutier.

In January 2015,Lise abandoneda bid for the leadership race before it evenstarted, saying Pierre Karl Pladeau had too big a lead. The party, he said at the time, wanted to "live itsPladeau moment."

Pladeau stepped down from politics on May 2. Lise said last week he was thinking "very seriously" about a candidacy.

"Yes, I know my trajectory and that of my colleagues is different. We each have our strengths and weaknesses, and we must findin oneleadera combination that will bring usvictories," Lise wrote on his blog.
