Jean-Franois Lise announces bid for Parti Qubcois leadership

Jean-Franois Lise has officially launched his bid for leader of the Parti Qubcois.

Lise, the MNA for Rosemont and the former minister responsible for Montreal, is the fifth member of his party to join the race.

He first announced his plan to run for PQ leader on Friday. On Monday he filed his nomination paperssurrounded bysupporters.

Lise's bid for PQ leadership coincides with the recent release of his bookLe Journal de Lise.

PQ leadership candidates have until Jan. 30 to gather 2,000 signatures in their support from 50 ridings. They will also have to fork over $10,000 to the party as a deposit.
