Longueuil bike path homicide suspect still sought by police

A savage beating that left a 23-year-old Longueuil woman dead has Longueuil police combing the citylooking for suspects.

Thewoman, whose identity has not been released by police,was found near a bike path that cuts through Paul Pratt Park in Old Longueuil Tuesday night. She later died in hospital.

A witness found the victimnear the pathbetweenNormandieStreet andChamblyRoadand called911 at around 10 p.m. ET.

Three witnesses were questioned, but they were not considered suspects.

The woman, who was not carrying identification, was later identified after her family came forward.

This is the first homicide in Longueuil police territory in 2014.
