Longueuil car crash seriously injures 5-year-old boy

Montreal police are investigating after an unmarked police car collided with another vehicle near the intersection of Gatan-Boucher and Davis boulevards this morning.

Police are piecing together what happened after a collision sent 3 people to hospital.

Montreal police are investigating after an unmarked police car collided with another vehicle near the intersection of Gatan-Boucher and Davis boulevards this morning.

Police said acarmaking a left turn fromGatan-BoucherBoulevard on to Davis Boulevard was hitby another car going straight through the intersection.

The collision happened around 8 a.m. in the borough of St-Hubert.

According to police, a 29-year-old officer with theSretduQubecwas at the wheel of the second car.

He was not injured.

A 31-year-old man and his two passengers a 14-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy are being treated in hospital.

Theboy was rushed to the Montreal Children's Hospital.

Longueuil police Const. Marc David said firefighters had to use the jaws of life to extract the five-year-old boy from the vehicle.

Jean-Franois Dion, who lives near the corner, said the intersection is a problem area, where people tend to go faster than the limit.

He said he's not surprised there was a collision.
