55-year-old man charged in connection with woman's death on Montreal's South Shore

Around 2 a.m. on Sunday, local police were called to a residential unit in Sainte-Catherine, Que., and discovered the body of a woman.

A 55-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of a woman on Montreal's South Shore.

Roussillon police were calledto a residential unit in Sainte-Catherine around 2 a.m. Sundayand discovered the woman's body. According to Radio-Canada,the body had signs of violence.

ric Biscotti was arrested that same day and appeared at the Longueuil courthouse.

He was charged with two offences: committing an indignity to a human body and arson.

When asked about the reason for those charges and details about a possible fire, the Sret du Qubec, which took over the investigation, declined to answer and said the investigation is still ongoing.

Biscotti was scheduled to be back in court Monday morning.
