Measles case reported in Lanaudire hospital

Health officials in the Lanaudire region have confirmed a case of measles at the emergency room a Saint-Charles-Borrome hospital.

Sources tell Radio-Canada it was an employee who worked at the hospital

Health officials in theLanaudire regionhave confirmed a case of measles at the emergency room aSaint-Charles-Borrome hospital.

Sources tell Radio-Canada it was an employee who worked the the hospital whilecontagious on March 13, 16and 17.

The hospital'sdirector,Hlne Boisvert, saidmore than half the patients who may have been exposed to disease through this person have been contacted.

They saidthe personwas not vaccinated against measles andcould remaininfectiousuntil April 7.

As of the end of March, officials had said there were 158 cases of the disease in the region.

All were members of a religious community which does not believe in vaccination.
