Meet the 2016 CBC Sing-In choristers

This year's CBC Christmas Sing-In benefits West Island Community Shares, a group that supports 40 community organizations.

This year's CBC Christmas Sing-In benefits West Island Community Shares, a group that supports 40community organizations.

Last year's Sing-Inraised more than$50,000for the NDG Food Depot.

On Dec. 11,CBC Montreal's Christmas Sing-Inwill take place at the Church of St. Andrew & St. Paul on Sherbrooke Street and the neighbouringBourgie Hall on asimulcast.

Some of the choir members who will perform have been singing for 50 years, like Nathaniel Watson.

Charlotte Cumberbirchis participating in her fourth Sing-In. But she hasbeen involved with choirs since she was a child.

Some sing low. DesmondByrne is a second bass.

And some sing high, like soprano Stephanie Manias.

All agree that it's the people that keep them coming back year after year. Stphanie Akr has been with the chorus for about four seasons.

Many have become close friends outside of rehearsal.

PeterKoniers says he's looking forward to performing a mix of classic Christmas music for the crowds on Sunday.

But first, here's a sneak preview of what some of the choristers have in store.


All donations collected at CBC Montreal's37th annual Christmas Sing-Inon Sundaywill go to West Island Community Shares.

Doors open at2 p.m.and the Sing-In starts at3 p.m.sharp.

This will also be the first year the Sing-In will be streamed live onFacebook. You can also stream the 2016 ChristmasSing-In atcbcmusic.ca/singin, starting onDec. 16.
